Optimization of industrial processes

The LAPIS laboratory works to develop methodologies that preside over the planning, design, implementation and management of industrial plants (or production systems).
Main research strands include simulation of industrial processes, development of social budgets, definition of environmental sustainability measurement systems, and industrial risk management.

Simulation 4.0

Design of complex manufacturing processes using dynamic simulation techniques.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Development and Drafting of Social and Sustainability Reports according to standards (GRI - Global Reporting Initiative, Integrated Reporting Framework, etc.).

ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT & PRODUCT CERTIFICATIONS

Development of systems for measuring the environmental performance of products, processes and services through Life Cycle Assessment analyses (LCA) also to be used as a scientific basis for environmental product certifications - EPD® (Environmental Product Declaration), and Climate Declaration.

Safety & RAMS analysis

Technical and regulatory support for drafting risk assessments in different industrial sectors in accordance with the legislation (Legislative Decree 81/2008) and drafting of DVR, DUVRI.

Support for the assessment of reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of machines using RAMS Analysis (reliability, availability, maintainability and safety) to ensure the proper functioning of complex systems within a production context.

ESG Report

Support for the preparation of ESG Report (Environmental, Social, governance) for the assessment of the aspects environmental, social and governance aspects.

MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Support for the design and implementation of certifiable Management Systems in the areas of Environment, Quality, Safety, and Social Responsibility according to ISO 14001, EMAS, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, SA8000, ISO 26000.

DIgital AND MetaversE

Support for the design and development of transformation projects for companies through the use of technologies based on Artificial Intelligence and the Metaverse.

HUman Reliability

Support for the development of models for the analysis of human, facility, safety and risk management reliability in industrial and tertiary facilities through specific protocols such as the Cognitive Reliability and Error Analysis Method (CREAM), Behavior Based Safety (BBS) and the Functional Resonance Analysis Method (FRAM).
